Women Football Friendly: India lose to Uzbekistan

Indian women football team, featuring Odisha defender Jabamani Tudu, went down 1-5 to Uzbekistan in their first friendly match at the Yakkasary Stadium in Tashkent on August 30, 2019. After taking early lead, India made meek surrender, conceding twice and thrice on either side of the break.

The India team is touring Uzbekistan to play two international friendlies. The second match will take place at the same venue on September 2. The All India Football Federation has arranged the friendlies for Indian women team in their quest to prepare for the AFC Women Asia Cup 2022 Qualifiers. The 23 players were selected from the National camp, which was held in New Delhi.

Defenders: Ashalata Devi, Sweety Devi, Jabamani Tudu, Y Papki Devi, Komal Kumari, Ranjana Chanu.
Mid-fielders: Sangita Basfore, Sanju Yadav, Manisha, Ritu Rani, Ratanbala Devi, Grace Lalrampari.
Forwards: Anju Tamang, Bala Devi, Dangmei Grace, Renu, Daya Devi, Roja Devi, Sandhiya Ranganathan.

India (Bala Devi 5’) lost to Uzbekistan (Lyudmila Karachik 31’, Maftuna Shoyimova 38’, Nilufar Kudratova 49’, Unknown 62’, Ugiloy Kuchkarova 82’) 1-5.
